lumpy lawn

I've been in an apartment all my life and now bought a house with a large back yard, but the ground is lumpy and grass is patchy. I have a Huqvarna lawn tractor....is there something I can do myself to smooth out the surface or do I need professional help? Thanks!

Depends on what is the cause of the lumpy. Some times you can seed grass into the bare spots and just raise your deck and run over all of it when you mow preventing the scalping and making it all look fairly uniform. Happens alot around here in yards with a few mature trees.

Its probably clumpy grass from not getting taken care of.. bring in top soil and reseed.

Rototilling your yard and reseedingis also a good option
