LTZ 1050 PTO Clutch spring

I removed the mower deck on my Cub Cadet LTZ 1050 to sharpen the blades. When I reinstalled it, there was a spring hanging from the PTO Clutch, and it wasn't obvious what it should hook to.
I ended up hooking it to the belt retainer, which I had removed as part of the mower deck removal; but I'm not sure if that's right. Has anyone else run into this before?

Thanks

Hi When I removed my deck on a 1600,to change blades,I had a spring hanging off the idle arm pulley, for belt tension? Is this maybe ? This got on your PTO somehow? is your Idol arm spring accountable? or there? Just a thought? good luck!

I checked another Cub Cadet at the dealer and saw where the spring attached. It hooked to the frame on the right side of the tractor. Not real obvious as there isn't even a notch where it's supposed to hook. This is a different spring than the belt tensioner spring. I hooks to an eye on the PTO clutch and holds tension on it in clockwise direction (as viewed from the top).
Thanks for the response.
