im having an issue with the deck belt .it keeps falling off after disengaging the PTO for the blades !! is there a spring for the tesioner im having a tough time finding it

are you using JD OEM belts & parts?

see if this spring is missing from PTO arm

My mower has an electric clutch for the blade drive, yours might be different? But to check the tension just reach under there (engine off of course) and pull on the belt, should see the tensioner pulley move in and out. Those will get rusted and dirty and stick in one position. Might need to remove the deck and clean and lube that mech.
