This is my first time posting to this forum. I have a 2001 JD LT166 with a B&S 16hp that has served me well. The tractor has a safety switch that must be held in when backing up or the motor will die. I hot wired this feature when it was new and haven't had any issues. Lately though, when I go to back up (with the blades engaged) the motor will start to miss. As soon as I let off the reverse pedal, it runs fine. It starts and runs fine any other time. One other thing to note, this happens intermittently, but almost always happens when backing up an incline. Any ideas would be appreciated.
