Ok guys,I have looked all over this site and found a ton of useful information, but I cant find anything that helps my current problem...so ..If you can....HELP....Here is where Im at..mowing along doing fine, got off tractor to move something and when I got back on it moved a little bit and stoped,no forward no reverse. I took it to the garage by towing it,with the free wheel lever pulled, this weekend I pulled the trans...found nothing that looks "wrong" dirty oil but nothing broke,no metal chips or chunks....nothing. after looking here and other sites I put it back together...new drive belt and new oil, bled it the way tufftorq says and with the wheels off the ground they respond...put it down and NOTHING did this numerous times and still nothing when on ground. One thing I did notice it that the tractor will push just has easy with freewheel rod in or out not sure what this means if anything. sorry to ramble on...sure would like some help! Thanks in advance
take the trans back out of the machine and split the case and check to see if the woodruff key is split or broken on one of the axle shafts, this is a common failure I find all the time.
keys both there on wheels and in good shape. not sure what key other reply was refering too but I will have it back out and have another look soon, seems odd that I can push it with the freewheel lever in or out and it feels the same
Ok,removed it again and everything looks fine, thinking maybe I had a linkage issue with the bypass, I would like to bench test it if I can, anybody have aan Idea about how many RPMs would be required?
