Hey Everyone,

First off I just want to say this is the greatest and most helpful community I have ever been a part of. The feedback and advice that everyone gives on here is awesome. It's nice to see people helping people.

Anyways, I'm looking at buying a commercial zero turn mower for mostly residential lawns and maybe a couple commercial properties. I would like to set my budget at about 7-8K. Anyone have any suggestions for a start up LCB?

So far I looked at the ExMark Pioneer S - Series and the Lazer Z E - Series (little more costly). What are your thoughts?

Thanks in advance!

If your looking at the Lazer Z E-Series save yourself a little money and buy the Toro Z Master. It's a little cheaper and there basically the same mower.

You can buy a Tiger Cat Scag for a little over 8K normally. They are awesome mowers as well.

The ExMark is a good mower, I just don't see paying their prices when you can buy the Toro cheaper and it's the same thing and both made by the same company.

Good thread! I am soon going to be in the market for a new Z myself, have/had a 46" Exmark, bought in 2009, my employee blew the motor and a Hustler mini Z, 52" that I bought used in 2010... deck is soon going to be needing replaced and lately it is in shop for minor oddball stuff then working. Thinking i may be ready to swallow the bullet and purchase a new one.

Did not that about Toro/Exmark relationship. Good to know!

i have a exmark lazer z hp 19hp kawasaki ... my employee was cutting and i am guessing oil pump went and he did not smell or feel it untiil motor as pretty much melted.. 2/3 fins are gone.... also have a Hustler Super mini Z kohler 27hp. been acting up brought it to a new shop last week they said it was water in gas, ran great for a week until today. drained all gas and it ran worse... until i noticed the choke was sticking, last shop changed cable. fix that and it ran great! But it has over 1800 hours, needs a deck by next season and is 5 yrs old... so i am thinking a new mower Not sure which brand yet.

Yeah Toro acquired Lawn-Boy In 89 and ExMark Manufacturing in 1997

I can vouch for this. Z master commercial 2000 series 48" is $6999 and a 52" would run $7499. Upgrade to a suspension seat if you can. Well worth the $500 extra.

The 2000 is a great machine but if your interested in suspension seats I wouldn't go with the 2000 I'd step up to the My Ride 3000.

I battled with it but my budget wouldn't let me squeeze it in for a 3000 52"... I was looking at $8500 for it before the seat. I had to buy 2 mowers already and the other is a monster for the little mower that it is. It's the Toro 21" heavy duty model #22290. Little beast never bogs or falters on anything. That was $1000 too plus other equipment since my echo stuff (all the old grey/black equipment) is now about dead. Bought enough for fleet pricing with Echo which was good. I would have gone with a 5000 if I could have for the benefits of EFI, already having the seat and rear discharge.
