Looking to buy a new commercial mower. Torn between Scag, Exmark, and Hustler

Hello Everybody, I am purchasing a new commercial mower in the next week or so for the upcoming mowing season. I maintain about 40 properties and wanting a mower that will last. I have been looking at scag, hustler, and exmark to buy. I currently run gravelys but want a change. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks

Of those listed the Scag is going to be very hard to beat.

I have owned all 3 brands, they all make a good mower that will last if the maintenance is kept up.

Another opinion poll? Exmark, Hustler and Scag in that order. You may also want to look at Toro as they make the Exmark.

Comes down to money for us as most top brands are close on quality we can buy toros nearly 40percent cheaper than xmarks for ztrs we buy kubota but for standers toro grandstand cost you 6100. For 48" model delivered right now best mower to have in fleet.
Leaf time kubotas cannot be beat as they are the most powerful ztrs built can handle grinding any leaves. They are really only manufacture using horizontal shaft engines anymore.

No bad choice really...go sit on each, and choose the one from each brand that suits you. Then let the dealer be the decider, the one that is the best makes the sale. Bare in mind that 90% of responses on here will tell you to buy their favorite...and they may even not have tried the others, or if the did it was many many years ago. Pinch of salt.

We run in rural South Alabama. Our area is economically depressed and people want you to stretch as long as possible between cuts and many places we cut is very rough. Competition is intense as well so you have to cut under those conditions and do it cheap. We run a ZD 326 Kubota 60" and a ZG 222 48" inch. They run under brutal conditions.

Both are built like tanks. I personally do not believe that there is a tougher built mower out there than they are. I know of operators in our area that have some they have run for years under those conditions and they keep ticking with a very minimum of down time.

I looked at numerous kinds and observed the guys here that have done it for a long time. I have seen numerous people junk mother mowers out and buy Kubota. I have never seen a Kubota junked out and the operator buy something else. If you are going to cut a lot of grass the ZD 326 60" Kubota is a moose. It will cost you in the beginning but you can normally buy it for 0 down and 0 interest. They will also offer you insurance that is very cheap on it. Apples and oranges Kubota for commercial use is hard to beat regardless of who tells you what.

Our city mainly uses Kubota mowers for mowing the sides of the road, intersections, etc. They fly around all summer long! They are reall tuff.
