Hi,
How areyou doing?
How is your Maxwell mower doing?
Did you find someone to have it restored for you?

Just happened I am in a process of restoring my Maxwell Rocket reel mower and I am interested how did it go for you? Wheather you had yours running?

I purchased mine non running so I am not sure if this is really fun mower to work with. A bit on a heavy side. Right?

I just got a call from my mechanic, who said the engine runs. This is good news.
And myself, I took the entire mower apart. Bit by bit. I cleaned them all. Now I will scrub the parts, then lub them and I will put them back together. See how it works.

I consider then to have them all sandblasted primed and painted. If... If it is all worthy for this mower.
So I am keen to know about your experience.

Enjoy the week end.

If I was looking for that part, I would talk to the members of mower forums.
I am sure , if you gave it some time, you will get your gear eventually. Just give it time...
I believe that that in Eastern US you would have the best chances to find it. Just talk to people.
Maybe someone will be able to tell you which other mower has the same gears in it.

- Yes. This is a Johnson engine. I just got a call from my mechanic that he checked it and this engine runs.
You bet. Your mower is in much better shape than mine. This should encourage you to go for it and to restore your mower. Your resto process will be much shorter than mine.
I have mine all in pieces now. Every day I get cleaned one piece and eventually it will be all assembled back together. I will mow lawn with it a bit and then I will decide if I want to leave it the way it is (there is still surprisingly plenty of original paint left on it, which showes up after the dirt gets removed) or I will sandblast it and do the proper paint job on it.

DONT give hope on it. you may find someone to help you out. maybe, who knows, you might want to try the restoration out yourself. the best way for you to get to know your mower and its limitation's
