My brother needs a Kohler Part # 3202521S Flywheel Assembly. I am not sure what engine he has.
I find them for around $200, but he would like to find one cheaper from somebody who is salvaging small engine parts, if possible. His mower is pretty old and he does not want to put a lots of money in it.
His old one has some teeth broken. I see the following note and wonder if that is the reason they changed to steel: "Kohler has changed from powdered metal ring gears to steel ring gears."
Anybody got any suggestions on a source?
Many thanks.

there may be a ring gear replacement for your flywheel
Thanks. I will explore that. That would be a much better solution.
I stumbled across the following note in the Kohler parts web site for the flywheel:
"Kohler has changed from powdered metal ring gears to steel ring gears."
That might explain the reason for his broken teeth.
FitsKohler Command V-Twin flywheels and Kohler Courage OEM flywheels. Use the specifications below to check for fit When installed on a flywheel it will add about 1.5 lbs. to the overall rotating mass.
