Mower model RY40104 (107928023)

Have a battery OP40261 that died and I am looking for a replacement. Went to www.ryobitools.com but could not figure out what battery is compatible. Any 40v? Some specific one?

(I prefer to stick to the Ryobi branded batteries even though they are more expensive)

TIA!

I would try calling Ryobi customer support at this number. 1-(800)-860-4050 for outdoor products

Yes, any Ryobi 40 volt battery will work, provided it fits in the battery compartment.

The newer Ryobi's have gone to a 'higher' battery case that will not fit the older mowers from around 4 years ago. This is the 6AH and higher packs. To make matters worse, there were 2 different sizes for the 6AH packs. I called Ryobi about this when I bought my mower 4 1/2 years ago and their support had no idea what I was talking about at the time.

Stihl had no idea on the original 70's FS80 when I was looking for a part back in 2000- no parts diagram. So "I feel your pain".

Way too small for even a edger. You need at least a 5AH or more depending on your lawn size. The highest capacity they have now is 7.5AH. It's expensive $242.
But, they are coming out with a 12AH pack. No price yet.
