LE14.538h Snapper ridimg mower wont turn over

How many safety switches does this mower have?
I disabled the seat switch by jumping the wires
I remover the clutch / brake switch which checked out perfect with my meter-havent reinstalled it yet
Does it have a blade swith and or a neutral switch?
What about this switch grounding wire that if removed removes all the switches from the equation?

I have the same mower....unfortunately, jumpering out the seat switch isn't as easy as just jumpering the wires together. The switch has both Normally Open and Normally Closed portions. There is a blade engaged switch. If you follow the wiring from the starter...(by battery)...you can follow the wiring to all the safety features. Last time this happened to me one of my kids left the blades engaged. Ugh. Good luck.

The seat switch is a simple open and closed single switch which stops the engine when you arent seated. By joining the wires bypassing the switch its always in the run position, im thinking.
The clutch/brake is more involved. It has 3 separate wires with the red jumped to make either the black or the white closed, which means one is closed when the pedal isnt depressed (the other open) and just the opposite when it is. I tried jumpering both and it turned over but didnt start due to lack of spark. At least she turned over-thats a start but that is as far as i went. I did discover a blade engage swith but didnt play with that yet. I dont know if it has a neutral switch, couldnt find one so thats where im at.

According to wiring diagram...the seat switch is normally closed when you are off the seat and the plug for it is normally closed when it is unplugged. So if it is unplugged it won't run and if your off the seat it won't run. It's almost like it needs to be "open" not jumpered. Kind of confusing. I have the same model lawn mower, but the manual actually says it is a LT145H38HBV. Good Luck.

Maybe that is the reason why the coil isnt firing--i have the seat switch closed--i'll investigate further--ty

Ok- i opened the seat switch because you were right it is open when running. I jumped both on the clutch/brake switch and it runs perfectly.
I thought one had to be open on that switch but i guess not-ordered a new switch but for now i will mow with it jumpered!
