I just picked up a Duraforce 22260 that I'm in the process of tearing down for a cleanup and re-paint. Everything was going well until I broke the bolt that secures the toe bar to the deck. Just to be clear, it's the metal bar that spans across the deck chute. I ended up breaking them both and need to know if that bar is used for structural integrity or simply to help avoid some idiot putting their foot in the chute. I really don't want to go through the process of trying to drill out the broken bolts if I don't have to.
It's main purpose is a toe gaurd, they may provide a little bit of strength on the front of the deck if you ram it into things. I've removed a few off mine if there broke and nothing's has happened to the decks. They actuall discharge harder with it removed.
