I presently own a craftsman mower and lawn tractor - but my question is for my Troy-Bilt "Junior" Tiller.
I hope someone in the forum can give me any source info about the tires and wheels for this unit. I know the tires themselves are a Hard rubber "Chevron Style" tractor lug pattern > > > >, 2.75" Width x 10.0" Overall Diameter with a 5.50" Diameter Steel Wheel with a 1.00" Diameter Bore. The Troy-Bilt numbers list them as unavailable but I know there are replacements available out there - just haven't found any leads yet. Ref. #'s (50045-01 LH Unit & 50045-02 RH Unit).
Reason I'm looking for replacements is the tire lugs are half gone so traction is the problem. She runs great and being the original owner the tiller is in great shape less the tire lugs. Must be a "Dry Rot" problem or some other unknown cause.
Anyway, any help or leads would be appreciated. Thanks everybody.

If the rims are still in good shape, which I suspect are fine, just mount new tires on your rims. Get the tire size off the side of the tire and good see a small engine shop, tire shop may be able to get them also. May be able to get online from several locations including ebay.

Thanks for the fast reply. There are no numbers on the tires at all. Smooth walls all around, front and back. The only sizes that I could find from the parts list is 2.75" x 10.00" Over-all Diameter, Lug Style Tires. Yes, the rims are in good shape and I did measure the tire width and rim sizes.
I'm wondering if this is an "odd-ball" that was made just for the "Junior" Troy-Bilt Model.

Mtd.com had 2.75x10 rim and tire but different part #. They wanted a lot for them.

The info on those tires is most likely there but the numbers are raised "only slightly" and they wear off quickly. Clean the tire side wall and look very carefully at different angles. (They are tubeless aren't they?)

Yes they are tubeless. I cleaned the sidewalls of both wheels and held them at different angles under a bright magnifier light but no dice for any raised writing or tell-tale marks. :frown:
I've investigated several sites on-line to come up with some availability. I'm also looking into some local lawn mower repair places around me to see what they have available.

Yeah I see what MTD charges for these small wheels. Too Much!!:thumbdown:
Like I mentioned in my other reply, I've found other sources on-line that are a little cheaper. Also looking around locally in Western NY. Maybe I'll find something and maybe I won't.
