My selfpropelled LawnBoy is about 3-4 years old and runs great. This is the 3rd one I have owned over the last 25 years. Only this one, I can't mow up leaves in my yard. With the stupid little plastic 'fingers' mounted under the front deck, it just pushed the leaves out of the way. I cut the 'fingers' off today and thought that would help, but the mower just wants to blow the leaves to the front and side. I think it's because of the mulching blade. Does anyone else have any ideas?

I think those "fingers" are there for safety reasons -- I wouldn't recommend removing them.

Sorry, but I can't answer the question.

I'm sure they were designed to keep from running over toes. My other two Lawnboys did not have them. I used my sawsall and removed them prior to mowing but it didn't help with picking up leaves. The only thing different now is that stupid mulching blade.
