Lawnboy Model 8253

Looking to find out what is an acceptable compression value range for a Lawnboy Model 8253 mower. It quit running and now it does not want to start, even with starting fluid sprayed into the carburetor. Spark appears to check out good. Cleaned and reinstalled plug. Took a compression reading and it is just over 50 p.s.i.

You have a D-series engine. I'm pretty sure that 50 psi is too low but I don't know the exact spec -- which should be the same for any D-series.

I'll bet that the answer to your question is somewhere in the Lawn-Boy forum on this website.
