Problem is , seems like every two years I have to have it in shop because engine will stop running while mowing. If i'm fast enough to disengage then reengage the saftey bar before engine completely stops it will rev up and continue to run. By end of mowing season the duration between ocurances gets shorter and shorter untill mower will not start at all. Can't remember what they replace at the shop. Does anybody know of this or has this problem themselves. Would like to be able to repair this myself.
Sounds like your kill switch is engaging due to a stretching brake/kill cable from handlebar to brake.

CD ignition coil pack will make one quit,when hot and go out. Heat cooling fins ,dirty.Remove shroud and clean ,r&r CD coil pack .. Partstree for part number,there cost is high,Ebay for coil pack.
