New to the forum. 1st post. Longtime LB user/collector. Have a Mag 21, Mag 19, and early 70's (can't remember #) LB's to name a few. Just picked up an 8243 yesterday. I believe it's an '87. Great shape, but sat for at least 4 yrs with gas. Runs on choke and primer bulb only. No big deal, so tore down the carb to clean (Walbro) and it looks like the the jets are pressed in and can't be removed unlike my other LB's. I cleeaned the bowl and everything as best as I could, re-installed, now it won't even fire. Removed plug and it looks like I'm not getting spark. I can't believe the coil could have just gone bad, but maybe I disturbed something else? Any suggestions?
Thanks

that has happened to me more than once I call it the luck of Lawnboy.you never know when a coil will go bad.I got a v force 10202 that ran fine when I cleaned the carb but when it came time to sell it would not fire.

Yeah, same here. Cleaned a V engine carb for my boss and then no spark. Try explaining THAT one. (Got one of those new style, $25 coils on eBay and got away clean!) Anyway, that 's why I have 14 Lawnboys. When I need to mow, I know at least one of them might work. LOL.
