Hey all I just picked up a lawn boy 8238ae. It has electric start. It is missing the key Is this something I need to start it. Still has pull cord.

No, if 2 cycle just make sure you use proper ratio 2 cycle oil & fresh gas, if 4 cycle check oil on dipstick add proper oil if necessary along with fresh gas.
