Anyone have any experience / knowledge on changing the fluid in the self propelled gear box. Type of fluid / weight / quantity / etc. Thanks in advance.

Those gearcases do not use fluid, they use grease. Why do you want to open up the gearcase?

Appears to be some whirring noise when I engage the self propel. My first thought was the trans. My other 10525 does not make this noise. I don't believe the grease has ever been checked or changed and was looking to be prepared if I pulled off the cover to inspect. PS - I have never checked my other 10525. Not sure if there is any service inspection timing 5 years 10 years?
