hi,

i have a briggs and stratton engine. it is a gas mower by yard machine.

the lawn mower works good in the beginning, but then after a while it will just die. i will have to wait 5 minutes or so and start it up again, but it will just die again. is this fixable or should i buy a new lawn mower?

Fixable. You'll need to research (based off the model of engine) the carburetor type, how to remove it, how to clean it, and what to replace. If its a briggs n stratton, they're generally very simple carbs, and easy to rebuild and clean. Stuff to do at the same time would be: check/change spark plug, check/change flywheel key, change oil, check/sharpen blade. Google, partstree.com, amazon, and manufacturer sites will be your best friend.
This site too. http://outdoorpowerinfo.com/repairs/briggs_stratton_carburetor_cleaning_repair.asp
Most of my hobby info comes from here for carb rebuilds in step-by-step processes.
