Two-Stroke
Assuming you've eliminated the spark plug as a problem, you could try baking the coil/cdi in an oven. No kidding.
There are some threads in this forum where people who have done it tell how it's done. I wouldn't do it except as a last resort before replacing the coil.
The good thing about the solid state coils is that there are fewer things that can go wrong.
I read that thread, and im trying to wrap my head around that, unless it pulls any moisture out.

the baked coil idea works but not all the time.If you dont plan to keep the mower try it meaning you can milk it out but its going to fail alot sooner than a replacement coil.Sometimes you only get 2 hrs out of them
Getting rid of the moisture is probably it -- which means that another way to approach the problem is to put the coil in a ziplock bag with some de-moisturizing compound (it's used to dry flowers and can sometimes bring electronics like damp cell phones back to life.)
Thare are new, aftermarket CDI coils on eBay for as little as $25, not the eighty-plus bucks that Lawnboy wants. They don't look anything like the original ones, which may be a good thing, considering the problems with the OEM ones. I bought one and it works.
