Hi everyone, new to the forum and semi new to small engine repair. I have a 5hp Lawn Boy snow blower that just won't fire, I've tried spraying some starter fluid in the carb(both valves are open), tried 3 different spark plugs, made sure that the key is on and throttle is in the up position. Nothing. I'm thinking it may be that one of the kill switch wires are interfering somehow or the spark plug wire is shot. I'm stumped. When I get home tonight I'll post the model and engine number. Thanks for your help.

From yhour description I would say you don't have spark at the plug. Remove the plug, reattach to the wire, lay on grounded metal part of engine, and crank to observe fire. If no fire, they either the problem is bad ignition module, or grounded kill wire. Try disconnecting the kill wire from the module, and crank again to check for fire. if still no fire then most likely ignition module is shot, and will need to be replaced.

It was kill switch interference. I disconnected a wire and she fired right up.
