Howdy, this is my first post on this site and was glad to find it. I have a 1979 or 80 Lawn boy model 5247, which I understand is a very sought after model. My dad bought this brand new in 1980 from a small town hardware store in North Branch Mi. I have since acquired it along with the original owners manual with the original receipt attached to it!! It runs great and fires right up, it was used mainly as a trimming mower for a large yard, so I'd say the hours are average to low.
Now my main question is this: the decals on the shroud do NOT have a number on them it just says "solid state power" but NO number.. The decal is shaped exactly like the ones that have the "19 or 21" on them. I've done a google image search and came up with no other ones like it. Any ideas on why this one is like this?? I've attached some pics so you can see the ole girl!

You won't find any numbers on the decal on the shroud, the only relevant numbers for the repair work is the model and serial numbers found on the metal 19 inch deck tag!

Yeah I know all the relevant info is on that tag im just curious why all the other 5247's I've seen have a BOLD "19" number below the "solid state power" on the decal and mine lacks the bold "19".
