Lawn boy 5239g throttle

Hey guys, on our 5239g Lawn Boy (which we just got running superbly thanks to all of you).. we're having one last issue with the throttle lever/switch on it, which has always been an issue. It has a "low speed" on the left and a "normal speed" on the right. The problem is, the little switch/lever never stays over on the "normal speed" side. vibrations from the mower always make it drift back to the middle, thus lowering the engine speed a bit. I feel like it should "lock" into place like it does on the low speed side, but it doesn't.. and I can't figure out how the bends in the metal rod work exactly to make it do that. Note that this is a new rod, too.. the older one was bent a little and I thought that was the issue, but we ended up with the same problem with the new rod.

Thanks for your help!
Pete

If you could post a close-up photo it might help. I've never had the problem -- so I don't know if I can help.

BTW, there's a Lawn-Boy forum where you might get a better answer. This, unlike your other question, seems uniquely Lawn-Boy.

I thought of something else.

Here is a link to a page of links to Lawn-Boy manuals. Anyone who works on a LB (1950 to 1988) should check this out.
