Hello I am looking to get some feedback on our 'Kwik kerb' line of products. I have lots of photos at http://www.progradelandscaping.ca Any feedback is muchly appreciated. What kind of applications do you see stamped concrete curbs being applied to in the landscape industry?

Thanks!

Those pictures are nice, especially the 3rd one showing the edging with built-in lights!! How does that work(is it 12volt system/solar powered/activated at night)??? That would be really nice looking for mulched flower beds, etc.

Its a low voltage set up. Many homeowners love it. Landscape curbing is not really new (been around over 25 years but only 15 in the US) but it is something homeowners, landscapers, lawn maintenance etc don't know much about - or have seen before.

We have all seen (and dealt with) the blocks, wood, stones and those black strips that dont keep the grass out of the landscaped areas or keep the rocks/mulch in. I don't know how much of a bother or danger it is to lawn mowers - but it can't be good. I know I used to cringe every time I caught a rock under the deck of my mower. Always reminds me of the All State insurance commercial with the "boy" aka Mayhem mowing lawn and hitting the rocks in the landscape bed and spraying them all over the car, boat and windows. Of course it is dramatized to prove a point... but projectiles can't be fun or safe.

Landscape curbing keeps the rocks and mulch in place and the grass out (provided it is mowed in a standard amount of time). It also allows the mower deck to ride over a portion of the curbing to reduce the amount of edging required (often eliminating it all together). Landscape curbing is made with concrete and is (well, ours is) treated with a color hardening (will resist blades and general damage from lawn mower wheels) and a UV sealer to keep the color truer - longer. This construction allows curbing to outlast rotting wood and is heavier to reduce movement. Also, it is installed in one continuous piece (with control joints) to keep the grass from growing in. With the sealer used, it also prevents the unsightly mold and staining that the blocks always have.

Am I selling something? No... just spreading the idea of concrete curbing to increase curb appeal, reduce lawn maintenance and keep landscaping looking clean and professional. We figure, the more you know about it, the better you can inform your customers. Whether you work it yourself or partner with one of our operators - it is installing curbing one yard at a time.
