I've got a LA145 rider in the shop that has something weird going on with the electric pto clutch. It quit coming on, then I hit reverse and it started up! Strange. I thought it must be the switch connected to the drive that determines if the mower is moving forward or backward. (It has a button that you have to mash to cut in reverse. Safety feature)
So, I send the guy off to cut more grass. Now it's back in the shop, and now, the only way to get the clutch to come on is to mash the button and cut in reverse. As soon as you go forward the blades cut off. Any ideas what may be causing this?
Hey Mark, thanks for sending that video. I didn't know about that! Good info.
I did get clutch working another way, however. I was able to put jumper wires in the reverse switch and the RIO switch, effectively bypassing them. The clutch kicks on and works good now.
