Kubota T1400H

Hi,

I'm looking at a 1990 Kubota T1400H and have a couple questions. How hard are the parts for these older mowers to come by? Can I just walk into a Kubota dealer and get parts that way? The people that I've seen on the internet that own them seem to really like them. Anyone who can give me some advice would be very appreciated.

I have a T1400H and have avoided most big repair bills through the years (I bought used in 1993 and have kept up around 12,000sqft of lawn with landscaping and burms..as well as periodic mowing of a couple of acres of pasture, when I've lacked animal grazers). Normal repair and maintenence items have been purchased: belts, blades, airfilter, batteries and the mower bags are what I've had to replace..usually a little pricier than most brands. Right now, I'm dealing with an expensive fix to a 25 year old mower deck...this to replace one of the bearing and blade assemblies..just under $300...the deck itself would be over $1600. Can't justify for a 25 year old mower...even though it's paid for itself over the last two decades. The logistics of how I've acquired parts and some advice? I have used the blow-up specifications to work over the phone or email with the Idaho dealer. They've been quite helpful even though I've not been their most profitable customer with such a small tractor.
So I assume that would be normal, as there are just too few small Kubota's sold out there. >> Hope this helps.

I have an older Kubota 1770 Model with 48" 3blade Deck, Bought it new in late 90's.
Maintain it myself, and have been very happy with it considering the hard use it gets in our orchard.
For parts I get some items in local dealer like blades, belts , etc. For filters NAPA carries them for the Kohler Engine in it.
I have learned a lot about the maintenance tasks here in the forum, as well as experience.
For some parts I cannot say enough about the Messick Dealer that you will read comments about here and there ad is ion the Forum. They are great.
