Last Summer I was mowing at our church and one of my mower blades came loose and started vibrating. I noticed the bevel gearbox had oil on the outside of the case. Last Fall I cleaning the mower deck for Winter and checked the gearbox for a leak after sitting all Winter and there was no leak. I just finished mowing and the gearbox is leaking. Not a great amount and some oil. Any suggestions where to check?
There are seals and bearings in that gear box , It's a pain to rebuild but I've done a few, Be real careful when tearing into it - there are shims and gears and bearings that need to come off the drive and driven shafts and need to be re assembled in a certain order.
