I have to charge a 6 amps for 5 minutes and then it will turn over and start. Is the KT735 Valve adjustment as critaical as the Command series for a good turn over on start

Looks like the valve clearances are .004-006 so check, adjust and see what happens. Could be a compression release issue but those are rare on Kohler. the Command doesn't use adjustable valves, do to using hydraulic lifters, and doesn't use compression release.

Check your battery voltage it should be around 12.7 or higher. If not take to autoparts store and have them test it. Replace with non Wal-Mart battery.

I took my fully charged battery to Advance Auto Parts. It was showing 13Volts on my VOM when I left home. They put a Load Tester on it and said that it had gone down from its 230cca to 130 cca, after the test and was bad. New 340 cca battery installed, and of coarse it is starting well. Time will tell. Thanks for the advice, from everyone.
