Low power the choke cycles open to almost full closed and back, of course runs rich on the closed cycle. It may keep running, it may shut off. Full power seems to be OK.

I opened it up, the air vane seems intact, not binding on anything, a little floppy but videos I've seen that seems to be the way they are.

I got 12 VDC on the line from the oil pressure switch to the choke element.

Any ideas? I am wondering if it isn't a fuel flow issue. Right before the choke closes you hear it suck a bunch of air. I'm wondering if there is fuel starvation, the vacuum increases and actually draws the choke closed.

I can disconnect the linkage, see if it has any running problems at low power once warmed up.

One thing that might help is to post the engine's spec number or serial number so some can look up the engine.
