And if it does start it will only run for a few minutes and very rough. Compression around 150 on both cylinders. Carb switch is functioning. One coil replaced (did not seem to help the issue), and a whole lot of cussing. It started when one day I was mowing and about to finish when it started missing and loosing power. I shut it down and figured a plug went bad so I went to the store and picked up new plugs. Changed them and cranked it up, started out running great then about 10 minutes later it did it again. I brought it to my barn and started taking it apart. I have read that the coils are notorious for going out on these. I took my timing light and cranked it up, noticed one cylinder had very sporadic spark, ordered new coil and installed and no Bueno. The other coil seemed to be sparking well. Now I can barely get it to start and if it does it smokes from the unburned fuel pretty bad. Checked the spark again and now both coils are sporadic and jumpy. I have checked all the wiring that I can think of, I have disconnected the shutoff wires on the coils and that has no effect. New fuel filter, cleaned needle and float bowl, getting good fuel through the pump, what gives???? Its on a cub cadet ztr with only 118hrs. Thanks for all your input as I am against a wall and my grass looks like tarzan would be right at home.
