Hey guys!
Question. I am hoping to put a SV730 in the place of a blown KT 7000 Series 22hp in an XT1 LT46. Looks like it will fit other than the exhaust, which I already swapped the headers. The SV has a separate choke cable. If I use the linkage assembly off the newer KT, which will bolt right on, will this allow me to use the single throttle/choke lever? And where I have circled in purple, is that where I transfer the lower spring to? What else do I need to do?

I know the cables cone in on opposite sides of motor but the brackets have provisions for both. So thats not a problem.

Do I need to swap that bracket out? Can I just hook up the cable somewhere different?

The manuals for both engines show the exact same diagrams so I guess I can just use the original bracket and xt1 cable.

So I ending up swapping the whole bracket assembly because I couldnt see a lever to activate choke. It started right up but now I have another problem.

I hear a knocking sound when cranking it over but it goes away when it fires up. Also it struggles to restart like it has a weak battery but battery has 12+ volts and still does it with my jump pack on it.

Here is a short video. https://youtube.com/shorts/Cyl40VJZWbI?feature=share

Sounds to like high back pressure, like the compression release isn't working. Like the starter turned the cylinder through a compression cycle then had to regroup to get through the next compression cycle. I didn't hear any knocking.

If this was a used engine, did you check the clearance of the valves?

I haven't checked anything yet.
