This engine has just started to smoke rather badly when going down hill. Once it is back on level ground the smoking stops. Other than this the engine operates normally and as it always did. This happened suddenly which leads me to believe it is not a wear problem but more like something got plugged up.

A somewhat common problem is leaking from the valve cover gasket. Check it to see if it is dripping onto the muffler,
