I have a Kohler Pro 20hp v twin that sounds like it has an exhaust leak. When Inspecting the muffler and attaching pipes I don't see an exhaust leaks.
With my past experience with VW air cooled engines it sound like a combustion chamber leak. (Head Gasket) I have found quite a few repair videos on head gaskets leaking oil but nothing on a combustion leak. Has anyone found this problem on the engine?

Could be head gasket leak, but don't see too many of those on that series and size of engine. What is more common is the exhaust gasket burning out

That would be a much easier fix. I can't feel any exhaust around the pipe so I thought I would run some fogging oil through it and maybe I will see a smoky leak. Thanks for the quick reply.

Shoot soapy water all around the muffler and head area. Look for bubbles. You're not going to see a leak unless there is a large crack in the tubing.
