kohler crankshaft

Anyone know if a m8 crankshaft will fit a k181? Need to replace tapered drive for straight one. Have both, don't know if stroke, rod and main journals are the same? Any help thanks, Mike

I found a crankshaft on the kohler dealer site that was used on both the M8 and the K181 so you should be able to swap them.

Thanks for the help. I found a crankshaft reference pdf. that shows all the Kohler cranks, measurements and part nos. It also shows a k181 and m8 to be the same. Thanks again, Mike
