I have a supposed 27hp command pro on my scag wildcat.
The compression tested low last evening. (120 on both cylinders) Engine was hot, throttle wide open, choke off. It uses a lot of oil and blows puffs of smoke when engaging PTO or throttling up. Power seems to be way down also.
I want to either rebuild it or possibly replace the shortblock (unless its not rings that are bad)
So I guess I need to do a leakdown test next to accurately diagnose it.
Here is my biggest problem though: The engine says command pro 27hp on the bracket on back of engine and the scag model number is STWC61V-27CV
However the sticker with the exact engine model and spec number is missing. I even had a guy at a local mower shop look for the numbers on the blower housing and he pointed to where they should be and said they are not there.
I don't know how to order the proper rebuild kit, short block or parts without the spec number.
