Kohler Command Pro 20 Starves for Gas?

It will run for a while and then start to stall. I can sometimes keep it going by jerking the tractor (ZTR bars) forward which shakes the tractor but it eventually dies acting like it's out of gas.
I just put in a new in-line gas filter, it has fresh gas, and the problem happens regardless of which gas tank I'm drawing from.

Any suggestions.

Did you install the filter so the tank can gravity feed the carb?

The tanks are lower as the motor has a fuel pump.

Then the fuel pump would be the next thing to check.

I thought so to so I talked to the dealer about it and he says the fuel pump either works all of the time or none of the time, so he thinks it can't be the fuel pump.
He's thinking that after 10 years of using gas with ethanol it might be time to rebuild the carburetor.
It would be about $200 for them to pick it up, fix it and deliver it back.
What do you think?
