kohler command 25 nikki carb issues

hi everybody, i am changing the accelerator pump diaphram on a nikki carb. there is a circuit? that goes from the pocket the diaphram sits in goes up, thru a short rubber hose and back into carb. i cannot get anything thru it, wire or air. is there a trick to clear it? any advice is greatly appreciated

Some of the Kohler command accelerator pump hoses have what looks like a small jet (actually an air bleed) inside the hose. Push on the hose and see if you find a hard spot where the jet maybe located.

hi, nothin in the hose, i forgot to mention, the circuit im having trouble with is the one with the short metal pipe that sticks up off float bowl its at botttom of accel. diaphram pocket and it looks like it takes a 90 degree turn straight up. the engine will only run with the choke pulled out and i have no throttle. i can adjust mixture with choke and get it to run good, but no throttle response.

Post your Simplicity model number. Have you tried a trash bag wire tie with plastic removed?

Hi Logan, in pic #7 outlined in black and white is where I have the problem and where it goes up thru a hose and back in the carb it says there's a check valve in the white but I cannot get anything thru it

I was going to suggest canned air in the direction of the flow, however, it sounds like you did that with no success. Therefore, some level of obstruction appears to be populating the orifice / check valve. About the only solution I see is to drip carb cleaner / parts cleaner into both ends, plug the ends and let it soak for a while. Then my concern with is, what is the check valve made from? Surely not some composite, plastic, etc however who knows what they use? Can it tolerate the chemicals? When you tried to blow it out, how much air did you use? One solution I use on guns, gun grips, sensitive / non-sensitive items is mineral spirits. Great cleaner and I have never seen it mess up anything. I would let the channel soak in mineral spirits for hours and flush with 100 + pounds of air. If that does nothing, I'd repeat the process with a stronger chemical, with spray carb cleaner being the weakest of what I'd use. Was this clog part of a problem you've been addressing or with many of us, came about as you were doing some other work? Lastly with all my cheap suggestions, I would be open to using a heat gun or hot-arsed hair dyer on the channel followed quickly with chemical flush, air, etc.

Thanks I will give it a try, all I was doing is changing the accelerator pump diaphragm lol.found this problem.rest of carb is clean as a whistle always somthing

Kind of strange. Unless something is different with the carb, I'd say the check valve is nothing more than a brass / metal ball. I guess it could be gunked up to the point where X amount of air may not have loosened it up. Before going to any great extent, From the "flow" (inlet) side, I spray it good with carb cleaner and using something like a wood or metal chopstick, slim screwdriver, etc, see if it will dislodge. Perhaps with a chemical in there, bang on the side with the plastic end of a screwdriver.

i got it running logan.thanks to all of you who helped out. i used spray carb cleaner, air pressure over and over, got a little seepage started then went for it.
