Kentucky Bluegrass

I know you would think I'd know this since I live in Kentucky, but I moved here from Indiana. I hear a lot about Kentucky Bluegrass. That's a type of grass, right? Does it really have a bluish color? Do people use it for their yards?

Its green, and turns out is grows all over the world. It's not native to this country let alone Kentucky.

That's a very interesting article that I learned a lot from. I've always thought Kentucky Bluegrass was something unique to Kentucky. From reading the article, it sounds like it's not the most hardy grass you can have and it needs to be mixed with another type of grass, like rye-grass according to the article, to control some diseases. Would mixing it with fescue be just as good?
