Hey folks! I have an older Deutz-Allis-branded lawn tractor with a Kohler K341s engine (spec. 41343) that had been run low on oil. After inspection, I found that the piston is +.010, and decided to home the cylinder (was smooth as glass) and replace the rings.
I purchases some cheap Performance Saw Supply/Lil Red Barn rings #K341 #777 +10, which the seller says cross over to Kohler 45-108-07-S. According to the parts list for my spec engine (41343), this would be correct.
The rings are all far too thick. The new compression rings are .093 vs .062 for the used.
I do not know if an earlier/later piston was used during prior work. Its marking include: +010, FLY with an arrow, and a tiny 12.0.3 over 0492
Can anyone help me find the right ring for this current setup? My local equipment suppliers seem to have moved away from engine work.
I know that I could buy a piston kit, but am trying to keep costs down, especially after wasting money on the incorrect rings. Any help you can provide is greatly appreciated!
