Hey folks, I'm working on a neighbor's John Deere Z355E, 48" deck. Blade drive belt keeps snapping on it, like every 15 hours of mowing, which is nuts.
Before just throwing another belt on and hoping for the best, I checked the spindles and both idler pulleys. Everything spins freely, no play that I could feel. So either I'm missing something or the last belt was just garbage — and it was a cheap generic one, so that's my leading theory.
Was looking at this heavier-duty belt to try instead: https://udcparts.com/products/gx26422-mower-deck-belt-replacement-for-john-deere
Anyone actually used one of these on a Z355E? Also curious if there's some known tensioner or pulley flaw on these ZTrak decks that likes to eat belts, before I bolt this one on and have it happen again in two weeks.
