Mower deck John Deere X300

I 'm looking at buying a new JDX300 lawn tractor. All the literature I read and the specs I looked it indicated this model comes witha 42" mowing deck. Would it affect the tractor operation if I were to have the 48" mowing deck installed...guess I'm wondering about any extra weight of the mowing deck or it additional size having any negative affect on the tractor operation?

Is the 48" deck offered by John Deere as an option for this tractor? If so, then they have designed the tractor to handle it and there should be no issues.

Thanks ...The young guy I talked to at the first dealership indicated he "was pretty sure" the 48" deck could be attached to the X300. Since your post I went to another dealer not far from me and he indicated that there was absolutely no problem...the X300 with the 48" deck was a good combination and the tractor was designed to handle either

This page is direct from the JD website.....the X300 is available with the 48" deck. I think I'd be skeptical of that first dealer if they don't know what they sell.
