I have an 05 John Deere L100, about a year and a half ago it stop turning over. I just adjusted the valves after the 1.5 years of it sitting up. After the valve adjustment it turns over fine, but now it will not start. There is no gas getting to the carb and there is not even gas getting to the filter between the fuel pump and gas tank. Ive replaced the fuel pump and made sure all line were clear and cleaned out the carb ( im no carb expert ) but i removed the bowl and cleaned the ports going down to it and made sure the float was moving. What am i missing? Or any other suggestions?
Check the fuel pump, the diaphragms may have dried out and needs to be replaced. Quick test. Run a fuel line from the tank to the filter and is if the filter gets fuel and your engines starts. If the tank is located so the fuel must run up hill connect the fuel line from the pump to the carb to a small funnel with gas in and try to start the engine. You may need a partner to do this.
