John Deere LX277 Ignition Question

I have a 2000 JD LX277 that has developed an ignition problem. With more and more frequency, when I start the mower it immediately dies when I let go of the key. If I jiggle the key it will sometimes run fine after letting go of it. I believe my problem is in the mechanical ignition switch itself and not in the electronic module area. After searching all over for the switch, all I can find is the entire ignition switch assembly including the module (for about $175!). Does anyone know where I can get just the switch, and if so how difficult would it be to replace it? I'm aware there's going to be soldering involved and that's not a problem but wonder if it's do-able at all. Thanks for any help and guidance!

Best price I could find, looks like it's sold as complete assy., being 19 years old you may want to consider purchasing, who knows your module may be next to go.

Yeah, you're probably right. I'm trying to fix this before I put it up for sale. Thanks.
