I have a john deere lx176 with an FC420v-AS10 engine. I have replaced the ignition coil (gapped with business card) and the ignition module, I am still getting no spark. Is there anything else that would cause no spark ? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks

Did you try with the kill wire taken off the coil, is the coil fitted the right way round, and how good are the magnet's on the flywheel..?

I took the kill wire off and still get no spark. The coil is on the same way that the old one was taken off (also only enough wire to put on spark plug one way). As far as the magnet it seems to be strong ? I wire brushed it and cleaned it up. Not sure how to check if magnet is strong enough ?

Hey Engineman, Would you take a look at my thread that I just put on today. It is on the Hustler Forum under Ignition Coil. I seem to be having some problem with that wire that you are talking about in this post. Maybe you can help me out. Thanks. ltmt

Ah the classic Kawasaki engine! your igniter box is blown!! On the back left hand side of the engine, you will see a black box. That unit is was tells the system to fire the spark. The circuit board in there is blown!! You have to replace that unit!!

Mr. Specialist you might want to look at the dates threads are posted, as this one is over three years old. Problem is probably solve or unit has been junked out.
