I think the drive belt is the culprit, but it seems to be in place and rotates the engine when moved. Where is the adjustment for traction drive belt??

I'm pretty sure it has an automatic tensioner, which means it tightens using a spring in the tensioner, and can't be manually adjusted.

You may have to replace the belt, but then I could be wrong!

Does it go in reverse? If not check the input pulley on top of trans. This pulley and the shaft it is on has splines between them that transmits the torque into the transmittion. If this happens this mower will not move. Having one of the axle keys not in place will do the same thing.. Did yoy remove one of the rear wheels pryor to this problem?

While mowing my yard this week my 15 year old J.D. LT 133 stopped dead in it's tracks. The engine runs fine and the mower is okay -- just no movement of the tractor. I see this problem has been reported some time ago but never saw any of the solutions posted that describes what was done to correct the problem. Would appreciate any input from those who have worked through this problem and describe the corrective actions they took.
Thanks in advance.

Well farm1boy, I have the same issue. Won't go...move. Noticed traction/drive belt seemed like too much slack, put new one on, nuthin. So what I'm gonna do after I cool off, is check the "key" deal at rear wheels. I notice on left side, is a plastic sleeve over axle, and is distance play between wheel and trans or axle housing, also you can push the mower forward or backward with or without the rod thing in back pulled. Hoping the key may be culprit. That maybe someone tried to push the mower without pulling the rod, maybe breaking the key. IDK. I'll see.

Check the traction drive pulley on top of your transaxle. Those pulleys splines can get worn down and cause this problem.
