I replaced the fuel filter & fuel pump. The engine starts and runs fine until the drive or the mower deck is engaged, then it cuts off.

Could be the seat safety switch isn't working properly..
Does it also do it when go forward/reverse?

Safety switch is fine. It cuts off when attempting to move forward or backward or when trying to engage the mower deck.
