john deere l130 blows fuse

I have a john deere l130 everytime I pull the pto switch it blows a fuse what could be the cause.. Even with the mower on or with the mower with just the power on the fuse blows.. any thoughts

If the wires between the switch and clutch are in good condition, I suspect that the clutch is shorted. To test disconnect at the plug under the frame by the clutch and apply 12V directly to the clutch. If it does not kick in, it is bad. If it kicks in I would then replace the clutch switch. Remember, check the wire very well first.

Also unplug the pto clutch, and take a multimeter and put one lead on one of the pins, and take the other lead and touch it to the metal part of the clutch housing. if you have continuity replace the clutch because it is shorted.

I'll go with the above, and also run it without the clutch on to see if it will still blow fuse.
