Hello everyone. I just recently finished off my great John Deere mower that I love and I would really like to fix it. My back yard is a bit of a war zone and I hit a stump really hard and now I need a new crankshaft and flywheel. I was wondering because I've seen the prices for these things new if I can buy one of the many mowers that are for sale cheap in my area that don't run and interchange the parts (if they are good of course). I have an '08 JS25 with the "mowmentum" self propel and a series 675 Briggs and Stratton engine. How can I find out if the crank and flywheel from other mowers will fit mine? I really want to save my mower....it's the best I've ever had and has taken a beating over the last six years. Thanks!

Thanks Mark, that would have been helpful earlier today.....anyway I ended up fixing it today. Went to neighborhood repair shop and got an old used engine for 30 bucks and swapped out the crank and the flywheel. Got the rest of my yard finished today. It's back running like a champ!
