john deere js20 walk behind mower won't start

Hi, my js20 mower will not start with air cleaner on. After it starts, I can put the air cleaner back on and it will run fine and if I stop the mower it will start again. But does antbody know what might be causing this???

Any help would be very appreciated!!

My guess would be to try a new air filter. The old air filter might be pluged with fine dust so bad that it is chokeing the carb.

Got to be the air filter so renew it.
